Pushing our Luck ?
hot day today - a far too sudden change in the weather which leaves one
feeling somewhat like a deflated balloon.
We decided to take a stroll along the Rhine river and perhaps we could
enjoy a little cool breeze while we're at it. No such luck !!!
Strangely enough we hardly saw a living soul sitting along the river's
edge, normally the river banks are jam packed with people trying to
catch a Summer tan.
I still can't believe how the entire area could be so deserted, even the
guy who sells ice-cream on the grassy path alongside the river was nowhere
to be seen.
Poor ol' Fuji was so busy drooling away, and I doubt very much if she
enjoyed the walk at all.
We headed in another direction and came across a park, the large trees looked
very tempting, so we walked in despite the warning signs NO DOGS ALLOWED!
It was indeed very cool and pleasant and I wasn't sorry that we behaved
as bold as brass and marched right in.
All along the way I had this niggling worry that at any moment we would
be stopped in our tracks by a local policeman who was going to issue us with
a juicy fine for bringing a canine into the park
Instead of a "copper", we spotted this giant of a man watching us from behind
the trees.
He didn't complain, and he didn't fine us for breaking the rules - in fact
I doubt if he minded at all.

Strange that no one else was in the park. The Statue is amazing and I can't even imagine what I would have thought if I had come upon him in the dark of the evening!!! Yikes! We too are experiencing temperature up to 103 and there seems to be no relief in the immediate future. The neighbors pond is begining to look pretty good!!!
That is SPOOKY looking! No wonder the park was empty! It probably ate the kids and their dogs too!
As you walked past, he probably turned his head watching you and giggled.
