Corporal Punishment or Stricker Measures?
In Calcutta - India, a young teenage boy was tied to a
tree for 9years long by his parents - because - he was an imposs-
ible child and quite a "handful"
As a 4year old he took out his frustration on animals such
as dogs and goats, by biting them.
At 6years of age his father decided it was time to tie
him to a nearby tree because, as the local news paper
says, he started attacking his own family by dishing out
bite wounds!
As a 15year old teenager he was finally freed from his chains
and is now recovering or recuperating in a Nerve Clinic
after his ordeal!
I fully realize the fact that India is a 3rd World Country, but
was that the only option for those parents?
As a kid I never came short of my almost daily corporal
punishment at home as well as at school - no kidding here!
At school we had to hold out our outstretched hands before the
teacher, and bravely receive our "punishment" by being
lashed and thrashed over the knuckles of the top of our hands.
I clearly remember one of our male teachers who insisted we (girls)
bend slightly forward to receive the blows from his cane, in
exactly the same way as the boys got theirs.
This was a lawful and legitimate affair in schools,
but WOW, schools won't get away with that sort of treatment
in this day and age!

The more lenient we are the bigger the rod we make.
We used to get *The Strap* we had to hold out our hands, palm up, which were hit with a leather strap.
Too right they wouldn't get away with it. In fact, I think it's teachers who are terrorized today. They can't do right for doing wrong.
I remember those days all too well, in the infant school one teacher asked for a voulenteer, I put my hand up and got whacked on the arse witha size twelve gym shoe he then said anyone miss behaives will have more of that and if anyone swore their mouths were washed out with carbolic soap.
In my last school the punishment was much worse and dished out with vigor, split canes on the tips of fingers, leather straps with splits in them thin whippy canes on the arse, and clouts round the head enough to knock you over.
ahh the good old days back then they should have been prosecuted never mind now.
I am all for keeping kids in tow, but that was malicious mindless violence.
Anyway Sir it was me who moved you your bubble car over the wall to the middle of the girls playground.
